AWS is constantly changing each and every day. You have to keep up-to-date with all of its new features and services to further improve your cloud architecture. An AWS Certification will complement your professional experience and can help you get shortlisted easier out of the thousands of job applicants if you're planning to look for a new role.
Of course, acquiring all AWS Certification exams is not mandatory and definitely not for everyone. Some professionals get a lot of AWS certs for their AWS Partner Network (APN) affiliation, for their independent consultancy firm (contracting), or for their IT Training provider credentials.
Some folks in the industry might scorn the idea of amassing a plethora of industry certifications and they could accentuate the thought that "experience" trumps certs. It's true that a piece of certification alone is not enough but in this ever-changing IT industry, you still have to remain competitive and gain all the additional credentials to future-proof your career – which is what these certifications can provide.
The "experience" you have in your current company might not be on par with what's needed in the job market right now. I have worked in over 10 different companies/clients in 3 countries and I can definitely say that "experience" alone is not enough – especially if your current company is using OBSOLETE technology, processes, or architectures. Don't rest on your laurels, ensure that your skills and credentials are STILL in demand in the industry!
Whatever your reason is for getting AWS Certified, you can get an abundant number of helpful exam feedback in this video. Check out this talk from the Springfield AWS User Group in Missouri:
